Probleme texlive2019 unter Windows 10 zu aktuallisieren

Moin liebe User,
ich ahbe texlive2019 auf meiner Windows 10 SSD installiert und bekomme eine große Anzahl von Fehlermeldungen.
Jemand eine Idee?

Wirf mal bitte die ganzen Leerzeilen aus deinem Code-Block. Man führt sich ein wenig verarscht, wenn man Dutzende Leerzeilen überblättern muss, um ans Ende zu gelangen.

AFAIK gibt es vier mögliche Ursachen für das Problem:
  • Der Anwender hat tatsächlich keinen Zugriff auf cmd.exe, was extrem unwahrscheinlich ist.
  • Eines der Hilfsprogramme wie tar wird nicht gefunden oder der Anwender hat keinen Zugriff darauf. Weil diese bei Windows via cmd gestartet werden, ist die Fehlermeldung dann leider etwas missverständlich.
  • Es wird eine Version eines der Hilfsprogramme wie tar gefunden, die nicht kompatibel ist. Das ist beispielsweise der Fall, wenn eine veraltete Version von MSYS/MinGW installiert ist. Auch ein veraltetes CygWin kann hier dazwischen pfuschen. Bzgl. der Fehlermeldungskonfussion siehe oben.
  • Aus unerfindlichen Gründen wird die Befehlszeile für den Aufruf so lange, dass Windows aussteigt. Das kann beispielsweise dann der Fall sein, wenn man TeX Live in einem absurd langen Verzeichnispfad installiert.
Und natürlich gibt es immer die Möglichkeiten fünf, sechs und sieben, nämlich, dass man sich die Installation irgendwie zerschossen hat, eine Antivirussoftware Amok läuft oder beim letztem --self Update defekte Infrastruktur-Pakete installiert wurden. Gegen fünf und sieben hilft oft, aber nicht immer, wenn man sich upate-tlmgr-latest.exe runterlädt und das laufen lässt. Gegen sechs ist man machtlos.

Dass bei dir Pakete wie babel oder wichtige collections wie collection-latex als forcibly removed markiert sind, ist sehr verdächtig. Da solltest du beim Update auf jeden Fall --reinstall-forcibly-removed als Option mit angeben, damit die wieder installiert werden. Kann aber auch sein, dass die Installation unrettbar zerschossen ist.

danke für Deine Antwort. Werde texlive2019 deinstallieren (zum x-ten Mal) und neu aufspielen.
Windose ist und bleibt negativ, nur Probleme, seit es Windoof 10 gibt sind sie nur angestiegen.

Man kann bei Windows 10 inzwischen übrigens recht einfach ein Linux-Subsystem installieren und dann die Linux-Version von TeX-Live verwenden. Selbst ausprobiert habe ich das noch nicht. Aber ein Bekannter hat das mal aus Jux ausprobiert und meinte, dass das erstaunlich gut funktioniere. Wie das dann aber mit dem TeX-Editor zusammenarbeitet, weiß ich nicht.

Es gibt auch Docker-Images mit TeX-Live.

Und natürlich gibt es auch noch MiKTeX als Alternative. Leute, die Probleme mit Windows haben, gibt es aber auch unter den MiKTeX-Anwendern.

vielen Dank für Eure Antworten. Werde mich von der Windose verabschieden, nichts als Probleme seit es Windows 10 gibt. Habe Linux Mint 19.2 auf einer anderen SSD. Das läuft zumindest

Viele Leute (ich inklusive) haben TeXLive ohne Probleme in Windows installiert. Und wenn es ein generelles Problem damit gäbe, hätte ich das mitbekommen.

Ich nehme daher eher an, das Problem sitzt vor dem Computer, aber wenn du einen echten Fehler in der TeXLive-Installation gefunden hast, dann wäre es nett, wenn du statt rumzumeckern, den Fehler auf der TeXlive-Liste melden würdest. Denn wenn TeXLive nicht ordnungsgemäß in einem so weit verbreiteten Betriebssystem funktioniert, dann ist es ein TeXLive Problem und kann nicht dem Betriebssystem angekreidet werden.

Eines der häufigsten Probleme bei Anwender ist IMHO, dass sie zu wenig Geduld aufbringen. Bei mir beschweren sich immer wieder Bekannte, die ihre Windows-Installation dermaßen zerlegt haben, dass sie nur mit viel Mühe oder mit einer tatsächlich einer Neuinstallation zu retten ist. Sehr beliebt ist auch, dass Windows-Update nicht mehr funktioniert. Wenn man sie dann fragt, was sie gemacht haben, dann haben sie irgendwas upgedated und das hat irgendwie nicht funktioniert und dann haben sie einen Neustart gemacht, der aber auch einfach ewig nicht durchgeführt wurde, weshalb sie den Rechner aus- und wieder eingeschaltet haben und jetzt funktioniert Update irgendwie gar nicht mehr oder der Rechner startet nicht mehr oder immer wieder neu.

Ich selbst musste heute einen Rechner, der seit fast einem Jahr nicht mehr benutzt wurde, updaten. Da gab es dann auch Meldungen, dass Updates nicht installiert werden konnten und ein Neustart helfen könnte. Ich habe den Neustart aber wirklich erst gemacht, als nach einer halben Stunden eben diese Meldung kam. Beim Neustart wurden dann weitere Updates installiert. Der Neustart hat deshalb einige Zeit gedauert. Ich habe dem Rechner die Zeit dafür gelassen und nicht etwa entgegen der eindeutigen Warnung, doch einen harten Reset ausgeführt. Danach wollte das Funktionsupdate für Windows 10, Version 1909 durchgeführt werden. Das blieb bereits bei der Initialisierung min. 10 Minuten bei 27% stehen. Habe ich deshalb einen Neustart gemacht? Nein, ich habe einfach einen Kaffee gekocht und ein paar andere Arbeiten erledigt. Nach einer halben Stunde stand dann der Download bei 3%, also fand die Initialisierung irgendwann doch selbst ihr Ende. Es gibt reichlich Zeitgenossen, die nicht so lange gewartet hätten. Aber die ganze Neustarterei und sämtliche Software immer wieder de- und neuinstallieren bringt nichts, wenn man sie nicht mit Sinn und Verstand durchführt.

Um zum Thema zurück zu kommen: Wenn beispielsweise, wie oben als Möglichkeit aufgeführt, eine nicht passende tar-Version gefunden wird, dann nützt eine Neuinstallation von TeX-Live eher wenig. Dann muss man die Ursache beseitigen, also das nicht passende tar ersetzen oder PATH so anpassen, dass eine passende Version gefunden wird. Oft ist die Deinstallation und Neuinstallation auch komplett unnötig. So kann beispielsweise das oben bereits erwähnte update-tlmgr-latest oft eine teilweise beschädigte Installation reparieren. Selbst der erneute Aufruf des Installers kann helfen, indem man einfach neu drüberinstalliert oder die vorhandene Installation erneut ausführen lässt.

Natürlich sollte man generell nicht nur mit etwas Geduld, sondern auch Struktur an die Sache heran gehen. Wie ein wild gewordenes Eichhörnchen auf der Suche nach Nüsschen, sämtliche Weiden hoch und runter zu rennen, bringt nämlich oft mehr Schwierigkeiten als es nützt. Spätestens, wenn man sich die TeX-Live-Installation zum wiederholten Mal zerschossen hat, sollte man sich einmal Gedanken darüber machen, warum einem das immer wieder passiert. Einmal ist Pech. Zweimal ist großes Pech. Spätestens ab dem dritten Mal hat es nur noch selten mit Pech zu tun.

Es kann übrigens auch helfen, die TeX-Live-Mailingliste mitzulesen. Dort finden sich auch immer wieder Zeitgenossen, die seltsame Probleme haben, bei denen sich dann oftmals herausstellt, dass sie selbstverursacht sind. Man kann daraus zumindest lernen, was man vermeiden sollte.

Übrigens kann man unter Linux TeX Live genauso falsch behandeln wie unter Windows. Beliebt ist beispielsweise ein Mischmasch aus TeX Live aus dem Linux-Paketmanager mit einem Vanilla TeX Live infolge der Unfähigkeit PATH korrekt einzustellen.

Windows 10 und ich werden nie Freunde. Das darf man akzeptieren. ja, auch unter Linuxen kann etwas schief laufen. Was texlive angeht habe ich Glück gehabt. Richte Dateien gewählt, die Pfade korrekt gesetzt ...

Das hat dann bis hier schon über eine Stunde gedauert und ist damit das komplett falsche Vorgehen. Eine Neuinstallation dauert auf meinem Notebook unter einer Stunde. Also wäre genau das, was hier als das angeblich komplett falsche Vorgehen verdammt wird, genau das richtige gewesen: Neuinstallation. Danach hat man dann auch gleich ein sauberes System, bei dem nicht GB von irgendwelchen alten Versionen belegt werden.

Statt also über die angeblichen Fehler anderer hezuziehen solltest du dich an die eigene Nase fassen.

Also wäre genau das, was hier als das angeblich komplett falsche Vorgehen verdammt wird, genau das richtige gewesen: Neuinstallation. Danach hat man dann auch gleich ein sauberes System, bei dem nicht GB von irgendwelchen alten Versionen belegt werden.
Auch bei mir hat es beim letzten größeren Windows Update länger als eine Stunde gedauert und ich habe ganz sicher nicht mittendrin abgebrochen und neuinstalliert. "Ein sauberes Windows" ohne all die Programme, die ich installiert und eingerichtet habe, ist wirklich nicht das, was ich brauche.
