Ja, genau. Das hat auch den Vorteil, dass wir uns nicht durch ellenlange log-Texte lesen müssen, die mit dem Problem gar nichts zu tun haben. Je kleiner das Minimalbeispiel und je kleiner die log-Datei, desto leichter ist in der Regel das Problem zu finden.

Nur ein Gedanke nebenbei:
hyperref muss (fast) immer als allerletztes Paket geladen werden. Ist das bei dir der Fall?

Die angegebene Log-Datei passt nicht zum angegebenen Minimalbeispiel. In dem fehlt nämlich eine schließende eckige Klammer bei
\usepackage[T1{fontenc}
. Mit diesem Fehler müsste es bereits weit früher eine Fehlermeldung geben. Ohne diesen Fehler läuft das Beispiel bei mir problemlos durch. Hauptunterschied: Ich verwende hyperref 2010/05/04 v6.81a. Da ich nicht ausschließen kann, dass Deine neuere Version von hyperref das Problem verursacht, empfehle ich einen Bugreport an Heiko mit korrigiertem Minimalbeispiel und dazu passender Log-Datei. Am besten versuchst Du das Beispiel noch weiter Richtung:
\documentclass{book}

\usepackage{hyperref}

\begin{document}
Hello
\end{document}
zu verkleinern, also weitere Paket zu eliminieren und eine Standardklasse zu verwenden, um Probleme im Zusammenspiel mit anderen Paketen weiter auszuschließen.

Guten Morgen,

die fehlende Klammer ist ein Fehler beim rüberkopieren von mir gewesen.
Sie ist natürlich vorhanden.

Ich hätte hyperref nicht updaten sollen :(

Wer ist Heiko und wie Poste ich ihm einen Bugreport?

Kann ich nicht einfach eine ältere funktionierende hyperref installieren?
Wie bekomme ich mein System denn am schnellesten zum laufen?

In praktisch jeder Datei, die zu hyperref gehört, steht:

Auch wenn man "Heiko hyperref" mal bei einer Suchmaschine eingibt, stößt man ganz schnell auf seinen vollständigen Namen und seine Funktion bezüglich hyperref.

Ich bitte um Verständnis, dass ich hier im Forum keine E-Mail-Adressen von anderen Leuten poste - zumal sie im README.pdf, das Teil der hyperref-Doku ist, unter "Bug Reports" zu finden ist.

[Edit:] Ansonsten beachte Elkes Hinweis im Anschluss an meinen Beitrag. BTW: Ich hatte bereits in http://www.golatex.de/viewtopic,p,19547.html#19547 darauf hingewiesen, dass genau dieses Paket die Anweisung in der aktuellen Version definiert ... blöd, das ich nicht damit gerechnet hatte, dass da im MikTeX-Pfad eine alte Version rumliegen könnte. :(

Hallo,

in Deinem Logfile steht folgende Warnung:
LaTeX Warning: You have requested, on input line 102, version
`2010/03/09' of package ltxcmds,
but only version
`2009/08/05 v1.0 Some LaTeX kernel commands for general use (HO)'
is available.
Diese Datei gehört zum oberdiek bundle und in deren aktueller Version wird \ltx@IfUndefined definiert. Deshalb verlangt hyperref.sty in Zeile 102 diese Version. Date also auch noch oberdiek ab.

Okay danke erstmal,

also ist es korrekt wenn ich die Pakete Oberdiek und hyperref komplett lösche (mit dem MikTeX update manager auf (-) Minus klicken).

Dann starte ich Windows neu. Wieder MikTeX Package Manager und auf (+) Plus klicken um die Pakete zu installieren.

Muss ich dann gleich mal probieren wenn ihr keine Einwände erhebt?

hyperref muss (fast) immer als allerletztes Paket geladen werden. Ist das bei dir der Fall?
Ja,

das wird als letztes Paket eingebunden. Es hat ja auch sonst immer funktionert, nur eben nach dem etwas Misslungenem Updat, ging halt nichts mehr.
